How I Analyze Facebook Ads
A great Facebook ad communicates the benefits of the product or service, not solely the features. Think about it like this: a feature makes the product better but a benefit makes the customer’s life better. Features typically describe a physical aspect of the product, while benefits describe a change in the emotional state of the customer.
Alright, let’s see how these companies market their pet subscription boxes:
#1: KitNipBox
Why this ad works:
The ad copy is lighthearted and comical while also providing a call-to-action: “Order a box today.”
The image provides the viewer with an idea of what the box contains and the background is very eye-catching and colorful. This helps the ad stand out.
The ad provides info on the cost of the subscription box, helping draw in people who are willing to pay that amount and driving away those who are not.
#2: BarkBox
Why this ad works:
BarkBox doesn’t use humor in the ad copy but does incentivize the viewer to pay attention by offering a “FREE dog bed with sign up.”
The image does a great job of showcasing the box of toys, which are sitting next to a relaxed looking dog on a fluffy bed.
The headline and description section below the URL remind the viewer about the free bed offer and what the box contains: “treats, toys & products for your pup!”
Thanks for reading!
Stay hungry and see you in the next issue.
